Job Title:
Experienced KiCad PCB Designer Needed to Review and Finalize 4-Layer PCB for University BMS Project
Job Description:
I am looking for an experienced PCB designer with KiCad experience to help with a 4-layer PCB design for my university electronics project.
The project is a Smart BMS for a 3S Li-Po battery pack. I already have:
• KiCad project files
• schematic
• BOM
• current PCB file
• project requirements and design description
I need someone who can review the existing design and help convert/finalize it into a professional 4-layer PCB layout ready for manufacturing.
Project summary:
The board is a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) for a 3S Li-Po battery pack used in a drone-related application. It includes:
• cell voltage monitoring
• current sensing
• temperature sensing
• protection logic
• ESP32-based control
• OLED display
• optional telemetry/logging features
• buck + LDO power architecture
• MOSFET-based protection/disconnect stage
What I need from the freelancer:
• Review my existing KiCad schematic / PCB files
• Check whether the current design can be improved for a 4-layer PCB
• Suggest a suitable 4-layer stack-up
• Improve component placement and routing
• Pay attention to grounding, power routing, noise, and manufacturability
• Check important areas such as:
o power stage
o current sensing path
o MOSFET section
o buck converter area
o sensitive monitoring/protection signals
• Verify footprints if necessary
• Prepare manufacturing-ready PCB outputs
Preferred deliverables:
• Updated KiCad PCB project files
• 4-layer PCB layout
• Gerber files
• drill files
• PDF layout
• pick and place file
• manufacturing-ready outputs
• brief notes/recommendations if any design issues are found
Current project status:
The schematic, BOM, and KiCad files are already available.
The project requirements, protection thresholds, and major component selections are also defined.
Board size, final connector placement, and some mechanical constraints may still be discussed during the project.
Please include in your proposal:
• Your experience with KiCad
• Your experience with 4-layer PCB design
• Examples of similar work
• Estimated delivery time
• Total cost
• Whether you can also review footprints / manufacturability
• Any information you would need from me before starting
Important note:
This is a university project, so I am mainly looking for someone who can help review, improve, and finalize the PCB professionally based on the existing design files.
