IoT Device Schematic & PCB Design
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
We are looking for an Embedded Hardware Developer to design a modern IoT device focused on wireless communication (BLE, MQTT-ready).
This project covers the hardware development stage only — including schematic design and PCB layout.
Future stages such as firmware development and prototype manufacturing will be handled as separate projects after successful hardware completion.
Project Scope:
• Design circuit schematics for an IoT device (wireless module, MCU, sensors, power management, etc.)
• Create PCB layout based on approved schematic
• Provide Gerber files and Bill of Materials (BOM) ready for prototype manufacturing
• Ensure design is MQTT-capable and BLE-compatible for future firmware integration
Requirements:
• Strong experience in embedded hardware design and IoT systems
• Knowledge of BLE and wireless hardware design principles
• Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Eagle
• Understanding of MCUs (ESP32, STM32, or similar platforms)
• Ability to deliver production-ready design files
For hand-off I will need:
• Editable schematic and PCB files (Altium, KiCad or similar)
• Gerbers, BOM with manufacturer part numbers, and assembly drawings
• A brief design note explaining component choices, RF layout considerations and expected power consumption figures
I’ll review against compile-ready files, clear wireless routing, and conformity with the battery and antenna specs we discuss at kickoff. If this sounds like your wheelhouse, I look forward to seeing how you’d architect the board.
