Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am ready to commission the full engineering and product-development package for a compact, consumer-safe 810 nm diode-laser hair-removal handset. The unit must meet the performance and safety standards of premium clinic systems while remaining simple enough for at-home use.

Core feature set
• Skin-tone detection that locks or adapts energy automatically for user safety.
• True pain-reduction technology: sapphire-ice contact cooling on a medical-grade aluminum heat sink, plus smart pulse shaping.
• Multiple treatment modes, including single-pulse, glide, and continuous auto-flash.
• Ten fully adjustable energy steps (level 1–10) stored and monitored via an on-board EEPROM shot counter for lifecycle management.

I will supply market research and industrial styling references; you will turn them into a manufacturable design. This means optical path calculation, diode and TEC selection, driver electronics, firmware (preferably on an STM32 or similar), mechanical CAD for the hand-piece, thermal simulation, prototype guidance, and regulatory documentation aimed at IEC 60825-1 and FDA 510(k) class II. A short video of the prototype in operation is the final proof of concept.

Acceptance criteria
1. CAD, Gerber, and firmware compile without errors.
2. Prototype outputs 810 ± 5 nm, max fluence 12 J/cm² at level 10, <3 °C sapphire tip after 60 s continuous firing.
3. Skin sensor disables emission on Fitzpatrick VI swatches.
4. EEPROM accurately tracks shots, rolling over gracefully after 1 M cycles.
5. All test reports and user manual drafts delivered in English.
