Hardware & Firmware Development Engineers with PATENT TECHNICAL WRITER & AI ENGINEER/MOBILE APP DEVELOPER for Consumer-Grade Embedded IoT System

We are seeking experienced Hardware and Firmware Development Engineers to lead the end-to-end development of a consumer-grade embedded IoT system. This is a collaborative project requiring close coordination between hardware and firmware teams to deliver a production-ready industrial IoT device with advanced wireless capabilities and sensor integration.

HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities:
- System-level hardware architecture and design freeze
- Component selection (MCU/SoC, power ICs, storage interfaces, wireless modules)
- Schematic design and PCB layout (high-speed + mixed-signal, EMI-aware)
- Power integrity, grounding, shielding, and DFM/DFA compliance
- Prototype fabrication support and manufacturer Q&A
- Hardware bring-up support and validation with firmware engineer
- Clear documentation for handover and future revisions

Deliverables & Milestones:
Milestone 1 – System Architecture & Design Freeze (10 days):
- System block diagram
- MCU/SoC selection with justification
- Storage interface definition
- Power budget & thermal assumptions
- Preliminary BOM with cost estimates
- Key risks & assumptions documentation

Milestone 2 – Schematic Design + PCB Layout (14 days):
- Complete Altium schematic and PCB layout
- ERC/DRC-clean design
- Stack-up and impedance details
- Manufacturing files (Gerber, PnP, BOM)
- Design notes (PDF + native files)

Milestone 2-Extension – Prototype Fabrication Support:
- Manufacturer Q&A support
- Assembly file verification
- Footprint/polarity confirmation

Milestone 5 – Integration & Handover (7 days):
- Schematics, PCB files, BOM handover
- Bring-up notes
- Hardware validation support
- Test points/debug guidance

FIRMWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimise, and debug firmware for industrial IoT devices
- Integrate wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE) and sensor systems
- Work with high-speed data interfaces and advanced wireless technologies
- Ensure seamless hardware-software integration and system reliability
- Collaborate with hardware teams for system bring-up and testing
- Participate in hardware validation and integration milestones


Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience with consumer electronics and mixed-signal designs (Hardware)
- Strong background in embedded firmware development for IoT devices (Firmware)
- Experience with wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE) and sensor integration
- Prior experience with EU/US consumer products strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively across hardware-firmware boundaries
- Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Freelancer Locations:
China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Eastern Europe, India

Timeline:
Hardware: Fixed by milestones as detailed above (approximately 31 days + fabrication support)
Firmware: 2-3 months
Both roles must coordinate closely throughout the development cycle

Note: Both engineers must strictly adhere to the milestone plan and deliverables. Clear communication and collaboration between hardware and firmware teams is essential for project success.

AI/ML Project Overview:
Develop a mobile application (iOS/Android) that serves as the interface between our haptic IoT device and Google Gemini's Music AI capabilities, enabling users to generate, customise, and experience music through synchronised haptic feedback.

Key Responsibilities AI/ML Integration:

Integrate Google Gemini Music Generation API (https://gemini.google/overview/music-generation/)
Develop intelligent music generation workflows based on user preferences and haptic profiles
Implement real-time audio-to-haptic conversion algorithms
Optimise API calls for performance and cost efficiency
Create custom music generation parameters and controls

PATENT TECHNICAL WRITER
Project Overview:
This role supports our ongoing Hardware & Firmware Development project for a consumer IoT device that combines:
- Haptic feedback technology
- AI-driven music generation (integrating Google Gemini Music AI)
- Advanced wireless connectivity and sensor integration
- Real-time audio-haptic synchronisation

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct prior art searches and patentability assessments
- Draft detailed patent specifications including claims, descriptions, and technical drawings
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and AI development teams to understand technical innovations
- Document novel aspects of haptic-music integration, sensor technologies, and AI implementation
- Prepare provisional and/or non-provisional patent applications
- Coordinate with patent attorneys for filing strategy
- Create clear technical diagrams and flowcharts for patent illustrations
- Ensure comprehensive coverage of hardware, firmware, and software innovations
