Hand-Proximity Doorbell Design & Launch
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I want to turn my idea for a “hand sensory doorbell” into a real, sellable product. The core requirement is simple: when a hand comes close, the unit must ring—no physical button, no apps, just reliable proximity detection. I have no sketches or blueprints yet, so we will start completely from scratch.
Scope
• Concept creation: translate my rough idea into initial sketches, then a fully-fleshed industrial design suitable for both homes and commercial entrances.
• Electronics & firmware: choose the best proximity technology—infrared, ultrasonic, capacitive, or another solution you recommend—then design the schematic, PCB, and embedded code that triggers a standard chime.
• Enclosure: model a weather-resistant, vandal-resistant housing that looks at home on a suburban porch and on an office lobby wall.
• Prototype & testing: build and iterate until the detection is consistent and false-trigger-free.
• Manufacturing package: deliver Gerbers, BOM, firmware source, 3D files, assembly instructions, and packaging artwork so a factory can start a production run.
• Market launch support: advise on small-batch manufacturing, compliance (FCC/CE), and sales channels so the doorbell can reach the public market quickly.
