Freshwater Fishfinder Sensor Development

Job ID: 39628515

Budget: €12 – €18 EUR

Hello,

My name is Cosmin Tonca, and I am looking for an experienced engineer to help complete a sonar sensor project. The goal is to develop a hardware system capable of generating and transmitting side-scan sonar images. Here are the requirements:

1. A piezoelectric bar-type sensor, operating at approximately 500 kHz, suitable for side-scan underwater imaging.
2. Implementation of a custom serial binary protocol (UART-based), including synchronization bytes, header fields, and a Fletcher-16 checksum.
3. UDP data transmission from the device to a mobile or desktop application over a local network.
4. A complete custom PCB design that includes:
- Driver and amplifier circuit for the piezo sensor
- STM32 microcontroller for handling signal processing and protocol implementation
- Wi-Fi or Ethernet module for UDP transmission
5. Deliverables:
- Complete hardware files: schematics, Gerber, and BOM
- Firmware for the STM32
- Testing and validation (including working UDP data communication)

Important note:
- I will provide a custom Android APK application for real-time testing and protocol validation (UDP data stream input).
- The serial protocol is well-documented, with clear structure and examples. I can share sample frames or logs as needed.

If you are interested and available for this project, please let me know:
- Estimated time and cost
- Any technical questions or suggestions you might have

Thank you in advance,
Cosmin Tonca
