Embedded Systems Engineer for Tamper-Proof Data Logging
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
We are seeking a high-caliber Embedded Systems & Security Engineer to design, build, and maintain a tamper-proof data logging and immutable ledger architecture.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between edge telemetry hardware and secure, verifiable storage. You will build a bulletproof data pipeline that ingests raw telemetry from specialized field hardware (such as acoustic/audio sensors, spatial measurement devices, and environmental monitoring hardware), cryptographically verifies data origin at the edge, and commits it into a tamper-evident, audit-ready ledger.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Edge Security & Device Cryptography
Implement hardware-level security, device attestation, and cryptographic signing (e.g., Secure Elements, TPMs, ECDSA, AES-256) at the embedded device layer before transmission.
Ensure end-to-end data integrity from hardware sensor acquisition to cloud ingest, protecting against spoofing, replay attacks, and man-in-the-middle (MitM) tampering.
2. Ingestion & Immutable Ledger Pipeline
Architect and deploy low-latency, scalable ingestion pipelines capable of receiving streaming time-series data, event triggers, and sensor metrics from field devices.
Design and implement a tamper-proof, immutable ledger (utilizing cryptographic Merkle trees, append-only distributed databases, or lightweight ledger/blockchain protocols) to guarantee data auditability and permanence.
Establish secure tokenization/credit generation logic or verifiable proof mechanisms driven by sensor events and threshold compliance.
3. Systems Integration & APIs
Build high-throughput RESTful/gRPC APIs and telemetry workers (MQTT, WebSockets, Kafka, or NATS) for secure gateway-to-ledger communication.
Create automated verification mechanisms and consensus/validation layers to audit incoming records against pre-set threshold rules.
Required Qualifications:
Software & Systems: 4+ years of experience in C/C++, Rust, Go, or Python with a focus on systems programming, cryptography, or distributed storage.
Cryptography & Data Security: Strong mastery of cryptographic hashing (SHA-256), digital signatures (ECC/Ed25519), PKI, Merkle trees, and hardware security modules (HSM/TPM).
Ledger & Storage Systems: Experience designing or integrating immutable storage systems, append-only logs, time-series databases (e.g., TimescaleDB, InfluxDB), or distributed ledgers (e.g., Hyperledger, QLDB, IPFS, or custom Merkle DAGs).
IoT & Telemetry Communications: Deep familiarity with edge-to-cloud protocols (MQTT over TLS, HTTPS, CoAP) and handling real-time, event-driven data streams.
Database & Verification Logic: Experience creating automated rule engines that process incoming telemetry to generate verifiable digital logs or audit tokens.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with environmental sensing, acoustics/decibel monitoring, spatial positioning, or hardware measurement systems.
Background in developing tokenomics, credit allocation systems, or compliance reporting ledgers.
Hands-on experience with hardware security chips (ATECC608A, OPTIGA Trust, STSAFE).
