Embedded System + PCB + Enclosure for Phone Locking Device
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I need an experienced embedded systems engineer to finalize and validate a hardware prototype for a phone-locking safety device used in vehicles.
The system includes:
State machine logic (already defined)
Sensors (hall sensor, lid switch, tamper detection)
Locking mechanism
Qi wireless charging integration
Microcontroller-based control system
I already have:
KiCad project files
Schematics and engineering packages (multiple ZIPs)
A working interactive simulation (HTML demo)
Defined state machine logic (see demo)
Example of system behavior:
What I need you to do:
Review and clean up the KiCad project
Finalize schematic for production readiness
Design or validate PCB layout
Ensure correct component selection (real, purchasable parts)
Validate power system (including Qi charging integration)
Provide manufacturing-ready files (Gerbers, BOM, assembly notes)
Optional: enclosure/mechanical considerations
Deliverables:
Clean KiCad project
Final schematic
PCB layout
BOM with supplier links
Gerber files
Short documentation explaining design decisions
Important:
This must be production-ready, not just a concept
Prior experience with embedded systems and PCB design required
Experience with sensors and power systems is mandatory
IP Ownership:
All work belongs to me. No reuse or resale allowed.
When applying, answer these questions:
Show 2 similar projects (PCB + embedded system)
What microcontroller would you use and why?
Any risks you see in this design?
Estimated timeline (realistic, not optimistic)
Estimated cost
Budget: Open to proposals (fixed price preferred)
