Embedded AI Hardware & PCB Design Consultant for Smart Edge Device

Job ID: 40540329

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am assembling a next-generation, AI-enabled embedded device and need an experienced consultant to guide the entire hardware path—from early architecture choices all the way to a production-ready, manufacturable PCB. You will collaborate directly with our internal engineering team, evaluating off-the-shelf platforms against custom options, selecting AI-capable processors, and shaping a board layout that balances performance, power, thermal behaviour, and cost.

To keep the project moving smoothly, I will rely on you for clear, actionable documentation and rapid design iterations that fit standard manufacturing workflows (DFM/DFT). Familiarity with tools such as Altium Designer or KiCad, signal-integrity simulation suites, and common edge-AI chipsets (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, Qualcomm RB-series, or similar) is essential.

Deliverables I expect from this engagement:
• Comparative report on candidate processor modules and supporting components
• Reviewed and annotated schematics with suggested part substitutions where needed
• PCB stack-up, placement, and routing guidelines ready for prototype fabrication
• Thermal and power budgets with mitigation strategies
• A brief manufacturing readiness checklist for our contract assembler

If you have a track record of bringing complex embedded hardware through prototype into mass production, I’m eager to see your approach and past successes.
