ESP32-Based Mainboard Design for (Time Tracking Terminal)

Job ID: 39609647

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

Hello Everyone,

I’m looking for an experienced electronics engineer to design a custom ESP32-based mainboard for a time tracking terminal.
This request is for PCB design only – I do not need prototyping or assembly at this stage.

The final deliverables should be complete design files ready for manufacturing and future CE/EMC certification.

Project Scope – PCB Design Only

Design a complete, production-ready PCB with the following features:

Core Hardware Features:
• 5” Nextion display connector (NX8048P050-011C), top-mounted on the Board
• PN532 NFC module, antenna placed on the bottom side of the PCB (under Display)
• ESP32-WROOM-32 or ESP32-WROVER (with PSRAM)
• 2× 16MB Flash memory (1× firmware, 1× OTA)
• Wi-Fi (Station + AP mode)
• EEPROM (≥256 bytes; I²C or SPI, e.g., AT24C02)
• RTC: DS3231 with CR2032 battery holder
• Isolated PoE (IEEE 802.3af), 5V DC output @ ≥1A
• USB-C (or Micro-USB fallback) for flashing and power supply
• Buzzer (for feedback tones)
• Reset button (rear-mounted)
• User button (rear-mounted)
(These buttons should be recessed and accessible through small holes in the enclosure,
allowing actuation with a paperclip or pin)

Mechanical Requirements:
• Rectangular PCB: approx. 150 mm wide × 170–180 mm high
• Mounting holes in each corner
• All components under the display must be low-profile (not higher than the display)
• RJ45 and USB-C connectors must be accessible from the center bottom edge
• NFC antenna must be centered on the front side of the PCB, directly under the display

See attached example files.

Compliance Requirements:
• Use only RoHS-compliant parts
• Design must follow CE and EMC (EMV) best practices for eventual certification
• Minimize EMI through layout and component selection
• The final board must be ready for CE/EMC pre-compliance testing

Deliverables:
• Editable schematic (KiCad)
• Editable PCB layout file
• Gerber files for PCB production
• BOM with part numbers and sourcing suggestions
• CPL / Pick & Place file
• Optional: STEP / 3D files for enclosure alignment (Please include this in the quote if possible)
• Basic documentation for flashing, power input, and connectors

In Your Proposal, Please Include:
• Brief summary of your experience with ESP32 and PoE
• Links or examples of relevant PCB designs
• Preferred EDA tool (KiCad preferred)
• Estimated delivery timeline

Please let me know if you need mechanical drawings or have specific questions. I’m available for fast feedback throughout the development.

Looking forward to collaborating with you
