Convert MVP to Commercial-Ready Product (PCB + Firmware + 3D Design + Assembly)
Budget: ₹75,000 – ₹150,000 INR
Project Description:
We are looking for a skilled hardware engineer/embedded systems developer who can help us take our current MVP of PathPal to a fully commercialized, scalable product.
PathPal is an assistive mobility device designed to help visually impaired users navigate safely by detecting obstacles and giving vibration feedback in real-time.
(More functional details will be shared after NDA / shortlisting — we are not disclosing core architecture publicly.)
What We Currently Have:
Fully working MVP prototype, validated with users.
Python-based core logic already tested.
Prototype PCB (using a ready-to-use MCU board).
Initial 3D-printed enclosure (requires redesign).
Scope of Work:
Re-design the PCB into a custom integrated production-ready board.
Optimize/convert the firmware for the custom board.
Redesign the enclosure to be compact, ergonomic, and manufacturable.
Procure necessary components (we will reimburse component costs).
Fabricate and assemble the PCB, including soldering and mounting components.
3D print and finish the final enclosure.
Deliver at least one fully assembled, working product to us for evaluation.
Prepare documentation and handover support.
Required Skills:
PCB Design & Layout (KiCad / Altium / EasyEDA etc.)
Embedded C / C++ Firmware Programming
PCB Assembly, Soldering, Testing & Validation
3D Product Design (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / etc.)
Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and small-batch scaling.
Deliverables:
Final production-ready PCB files (Gerbers, BOM, Schematic)
Final optimized firmware
Final 3D enclosure files (STEP/STL)
Fully assembled and tested hardware unit, shipped to us
Documentation + wiring + testing instructions
Additional Notes:
NDA is required before full technical disclosure.
Component and fabrication expenses will be covered (with prior approval).
Preference will be given to freelancers who have previously taken hardware products from prototype → production.
To Apply, Please Provide:
Links to past hardware products you developed end-to-end
Tools/software you use for PCB + firmware + 3D
Approx. timeline and estimated cost for this project
