Arduino Smart Cat Feeder
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a complete Arduino Uno–based design that can automatically portion out both dry food and water for my cat using real-time scale readings plus the animal’s age and gender. A built-in load cell must track the cat’s weight each visit; the program then calculates the correct grams of kibble and millilitres of water to release. Feeding frequency is chosen with simple push-buttons on the unit, and status feedback comes through LED indicators only—no screens.
Hardware has to include separate hoppers for food and water, each with a sensor that triggers a refill-needed notification. The machine should log weight, dispensing times, and refill alerts to the serial monitor so I can review the data later.
Deliverables
• Arduino Uno sketch with well-commented code implementing weight detection, portion calculation, button-driven scheduling, LED status logic, and refill notification
• Circuit schematic and wiring diagram covering load cell amplifier, stepper/servomotors, buttons, LEDs, level sensors, and power management
• 3D or mechanical drawings for the storage bins, chute, and scale platform
• Bill of materials with part numbers and links
• Brief assembly and calibration guide, including how to input age/gender constants
