Design and develop **industrial-grade IoT hardware** starting from concept → schematic → PCB → firmware → validation, with a focus on **Design for Manufacturing (DFM)**, scalability, and reliability.

### **Key Responsibilities**
#### 1. **System Architecture & Design**
* Define system requirements (processor, memory, comms, power, I/O).
* Select SoCs, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and industrial-grade components.
* Plan modular hardware blocks (compute, comms, power, audio, etc.).
#### 2. **PCB & Hardware Development**
* Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts (multi-layer, high-speed).
* Integrate **Ethernet, LTE/5G, DMR, RS232, USB, HDMI, GPIOs, audio codecs** etc.
* Apply **signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal, and power optimization** practices.
* Ensure **robust connectors, protection circuits, surge handling** for industrial use.
#### 3. **DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & DFA (Assembly)**
* Optimize layouts for **mass production, pick-and-place, and testability**.
* Maintain proper spacing, footprints, and manufacturable stack-ups.
* Collaborate with PCB fabricators for **cost-effective yield improvements**.
* Generate **Gerbers, BOM, assembly drawings, test points** for production.
#### 4. **Embedded Firmware Integration**
* Develop or support firmware for Linux/RTOS.
* Integrate device drivers (Ethernet, LTE, DMR, USB, etc.).
* Work with secure boot, TPM, and encryption modules for **data protection**.
#### 5. **Testing & Validation**
* Conduct board bring-up, debug, and functional testing.
* Perform **environmental stress tests (temp, vibration, surge, ESD)**.
* Validate audio paths, amplifier integration, and local tweeter diagnostics.
#### 6. **IoT/Industrial Integration**
* Implement secure communication protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, HTTPS).
* Enable **remote monitoring, OTA updates, device provisioning**.
* Work with **cloud/edge integration** for EWS/industrial deployments.
#### 7. **Documentation & Compliance**
* Maintain full design documentation (schematics, layouts, firmware APIs).
* Ensure regulatory compliance (CE, FCC, RoHS, EMI/EMC).
* Provide production SOPs, assembly instructions, and service manuals.
#### 8. **Collaboration & Continuous Improvement**
* Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, operations).
* Support field teams for deployment and troubleshooting.
* Continuously refine designs for cost reduction, lifecycle availability, and performance.
