Embedded C PIC Microcontroller Developer - USB IR Device

Job ID: 31493138

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

DangerousPrototypes make and sell an open-source device called the USB Infrared Toy v2 http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/USB_Infrared_Toy.

This device is based on the PIC 18F2550.

It currently has 1 IR (InfraRed) RX (Receiver) and 1 IR TX(Transmitter).

I am looking for a PIC C developer with MPLAB experience to modify the source code to use the exposed unused GPIO pins on the header pins on the device as additional IR TX:

GPIO(HEADER PIN):
RB0(3)
RB3(1)
RB5(2)
RA1(6)
RA2(5)
-- the following pins might be used somehow (https://www.lirc.org/html/irtoy.html)
RA3(8)
RA4(7)
RA5(10)

I will connect a IR TX LED to each GPIO header pin via a suitable current limiting resistor. You will need to figure out a solution that allows me to set the GPIO to be used for TX output over the USB connection. so that when I play IR remote codes it will use only 1 IR TX LED that will control one device at a time.

Successful payment will ONLY be made once I am provided with both source code and compiled working .hex file that I can flash and test.

ONLY Freelancers with PIC C Coding experience wanted.
