Email Automation for Outdoor Gear Maintenance

Job ID: 40603040

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

Alpkit make outdoor and cycling equipment in the UK and run a busy repair and care service that handles other brands' gear as well as our own. We have a large mailing list and almost no automation behind it. Everything we send is a manual campaign, which means the useful, well-timed messages never get sent at all.

We want a set of automated flows built in our email platform, and we want them built around looking after equipment people already own rather than around selling them more. That is not a preference, it is a requirement. We are a certified B Corp and our customers buy from us partly because we do not behave like a fast fashion brand. Countdown timers, manufactured scarcity and a discount code in every message will not work here and will get the work rejected.

The flows we need cover a welcome series for new subscribers, a seasonal care reminder timed to autumn asking people to check and reproof their waterproofs before winter, a post-purchase sequence that arrives at sensible intervals with care instructions specific to what was bought, a follow-up after a repair is completed, a prompt to donate unused gear to our Continuum project, and an abandoned basket sequence. Each needs sensible timing, clear trigger conditions, proper exclusion rules so nobody receives three messages in a week, and on-brand responsive templates.

SMS should be used sparingly and only where it genuinely helps, such as repair status updates. Tell us where you think it does not belong.

We will provide platform and Shopify access, brand guidelines, product and repair data, and a marketing contact who responds within one working day. We will write final copy, but expect subject lines and structural suggestions from you.

Please link to lifecycle programmes you have built, tell us which platform you are strongest in, and confirm your availability. If you would also be interested in running monthly campaigns afterwards, say so and quote separately.
