Elegant Author Portfolio WordPress Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’ve just migrated my author presence from Tertulia for Authors to a fresh WordPress install and need a designer-developer who can quickly turn it into a polished, classic-looking showcase. I’m finishing my third book and want readers to find all three titles, purchase them directly, join my mailing list, follow my blog, and check tour dates—everything in one tidy, elegant space.
The tone of the site should be classic and timeless: generous white space, refined serif fonts, muted literary colours, and graceful transitions. A well-structured home page should spotlight my books with cover art and a concise bio, then guide visitors to individual book pages where they can buy paperback, ebook, or audiobook editions. WooCommerce (or a similarly lightweight alternative) can power the store; security and a smooth checkout flow are critical.
Alongside the shop, I need:
• A Mailchimp-linked newsletter opt-in that’s impossible to miss yet never intrusive.
• An events calendar I can update myself with signings and readings.
• A clean blog section for behind-the-scenes posts and writing tips.
I’ll supply all copy, imagery, and ISBN data. You’ll select or customise a suitable theme, configure plugins, fine-tune mobile responsiveness, and optimise the structure for search engines. When the build is complete, please provide a concise hand-off guide—or a short screen-recorded walk-through—so I can manage updates comfortably on my own.
If you have live examples of author or portfolio sites you’ve crafted, I’d love to see them. I value clear communication, lightweight code, and a collaborative spirit.
