Creating an email marketing strategy & setting up initial emails for a travel blog

For www.spendlifetraveling.com I need help creating an email marketing strategy and setting up the welcome email series and the outline for a biweekly email.
The current (very small) mailing list is in Mailchimp so I prefer to stick with that, but I am open to switching to MailerLite if there is a good reason for that.
