Help organizing Gmail

Hi, I'm looking for some help with organizing my Gmail account. Specifically, I need to get some email folders and rules set up. Currently I have nothing set up, so I'm looking for someone with experience who can help me create the optimal organizational setup to keep my emails organized. I'm using a Gmail account, and I'd really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!
