Live WordPress Build for Non-Profit

I need to stand up a simple WordPress site for our non-profit and would like to build it together in real time over MS Teams or TeamViewer. During each screen-share session you will control the mouse and keyboard while I stay on the call to answer questions, approve design tweaks, and keep the pace moving.

Goal
The site’s main purpose is community engagement, so every decision—layout, plug-ins, copy placement—should make it easy for visitors to see what we’re doing and get involved.

Key feature
An event calendar must be integrated and styled so upcoming activities are prominent on the home page and easy to manage from the dashboard.

Design direction
We have no existing theme or branding, so you’ll suggest a lightweight theme (or starter template), adjust colours and typography on the fly, and create a cohesive look that matches our logo and imagery.

Deliverables (completed live while we work):
• WordPress installed on our host, with HTTPS and basic security hardening
• Event calendar plug-in configured, tested, and displayed on home and dedicated Events page
• Core pages set up (Home, About, Events, Contact) with navigation and placeholder content
• Customised theme settings that establish a clean, consistent visual style
• Quick hand-off notes so I can post events, edit pages, and handle routine updates

Logistics
Sessions will run in two-hour blocks starting as soon as you are available. Proficiency with Gutenberg or a page-builder such as Elementor is preferred; whichever you move fastest in, we’ll use. Clear "English" verbal explanations while you work are essential so I can learn and make decisions quickly.
