Volltage shielded wire

Job ID: 33018947

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Unit “A” features a printed circuit board (PCB) which’s ground potential is grounded to chassis potential via a 2kOhm resistor. Unit “B” contains a PCB which’s ground potential is connected to chassis potential directly, resulting in a 0Ohm resistance. Unit A supplies unit B un-isolated with 100V, 20W of power. The wire used is one shielded pair of 20AWG copper cable of 15m length. The shield is connected to the chassis of both units. Assume room temperature.
Calculate the current flowing over the cable shield by assuming the shield behaving like a third conductor in terms of resistance, explain the methods you used and describe what downsides there are in the demonstrated setup. Additionally suggest 3 measures to improve the setup
