Visual Effects Device Repair
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
We use and hire a range of Sparkular - Cold burning spark machines. They are used on stages / concerts / parties in place of pyrotechnics as they are cold burning and can be used again and again during an event.
The regularly require maintenance in order to keep them running. This is quite time consuming and whilst we have the knowledge we don't have the time.
So this is a mending job rather than constructing or designing anything. The units are fairly simple to mend, just lots of components to take out in order to get to a faulty part etc
What we would need from you
• Diagnose the fault having tested the unit.
• Replace or rework any failed components
• Retest device to check it is working correctly
The unit can be delivered to you or you can visit our workshop—whatever is more practical. You’ll likely lean on the usual toolkit (scope, logic analyser, rework station)
It would be easier for us both if you were able to work in our unit in Stevenage (SG1 4QS) as we have all the spare parts. We cannot send the kit abroad so please do not apply if not in the UK
If you enjoy hunting down stubborn faults in specialised gear and can turn around a clean, reliable fix, then we are ready to get started right away.
We can show you through the first couple of variations on the units. We have a range of spares in stock, but often have to order more from China which can delay things by a week or so
