There is a technology called "Passive RFID Tags" applied to metal surfaces", that once they touch metal products turn the product into an antenna.
I mention this because I need to track incoming and outgoing employees with the metal equipment and tools they are carrying in a large Waterhouse and outdoor field area.
The Reader must be able to read "Passive RFID Tags" that are hidden or printed on the metal. This means that the Tags have to be as small as possible to be able to hide them in Metal gardening tools (Shovels, Trowels, Spades, Lawn Mowers), and at the same time to turn this metal item into an antenna, as mentioned before,
I repeat this because the use of a Long-range RFID reader is most of the time with Active Tags (and this is not an option because of Size and Battery Life) unless there is an option with 3 to 5 years of Battery life in a very small RFID Tag that can be placed in a Shovel Handle.
