Tiger Electronics Handheld Game Customization

Job ID: 38454894

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I am working on a project to modify a Tiger Electronics handheld game from the 90s, which has recently been re-issued (link: https://amzn.to/4fSo7Mm). The goal is to custom design a PCB that will fit inside the original casing of the handheld and interface with a Raspberry Pi Zero to run an application called EmulationStation/RetroPie. Additionally, the screen will need to be replaced with a full-color LCD to support gameplay on the device.

Scope of Work:

PCB Design:
- Custom design a PCB that will fit precisely inside the Tiger handheld's existing casing.
- Ensure the PCB interfaces seamlessly with a Raspberry Pi Zero.
- Include all necessary connections and components to support the full functionality of Emulation Station/RetroPie.

Display Replacement:
- Source and integrate a full-color LCD screen that fits within the original screen area.
- Ensure the new display is compatible with the Raspberry Pi Zero and capable of displaying games in full color.

Notes:
The PCB design must take into account the limited internal space and maintain the overall aesthetic of the original handheld.

I am looking for someone who can deliver a well-optimized and functional design that will allow the Tiger handheld to run retro games smoothly.

Communication throughout the design process is crucial, and updates should be provided regularly.
Your expertise in custom PCB design and experience with retro gaming hardware will be essential in bringing this project to life.
