Sensor integration and satellite communications for marine research project
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
We are conducting a series of experiments in the ocean and require the assistance of someone with embedded hardware and software systems development experience for the project.
In our application, we have a long structure (15m or more) that will be suspended from the underside of a float. The float will be deployed to the open ocean, in areas off the coast of Australia. The structure will have a variety of sensors attached to it at various depths to capture acceleration, temperature, water flow rate, and structural load.
We want to capture sensor data into a local (SDCard) storage on the float, filter or compute summary data, then transmit that data via satellite back to our data collection service.
We will be using the Myriota satellite service (https://myriota.com/) for sending telemetry back to our data collection infrastructure. The Myriota device provides a ready made interface for integrating third party electronics.
The service is to be powered by a solar panel and battery that will be housed inside the float.
Our company is based in Brisbane. The product team is located in Melbourne. We are looking for someone who is self directed, willing to take ownership of the work, and can collaborate remotely for most of the work. There may be opportunities for travel to deployment sites.
