Remote Temperature Sensor
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for an energy efficient, small, battery operated temperature sensor, based on the ESP32 chip and a SHT3x temperature and humidity sensor. I need this to run for 4 months between battery charges using the ESP32 deep sleep mode for 10 minutes between each sensor reading and transmitting. I have been using an 18650 battery in my prototype, but open to other options which will provide for the requirements above.
I am hoping there is a way to only power the temp sensor when the ESP32 is powered up (power from another pin which needs to be turned on?). I would also like the battery to be charged using a USB connection, and keeping all charging electronics inactive except when actively charging the battery. For this prototype (version 2) board I will also need to program the ESP32 using the USB connection.
The battery should be on one side of the board and electronics on the other side, of course the battery side can be etched to run connections between components as needed.
