PWM Circuit Design for Linear Solenoid
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
I'm looking for an expert in electronics to design a simple PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit to enhance the efficiency of powering a small push-pull 12VDC, linear solenoid. The current rating of this solenoid is less than 500mA
The ideal freelancer for this project should have:
- Extensive experience in circuit design and PWM technology
- Proven track record in working with linear solenoids
- Ability to create efficient, reliable circuits
The goal is to create a 'hit and hold' circuit, which will help in minimizing power consumption while maintaining solenoid lifespan. The circuit should use a low-power timer or similar and easily obtainable parts.
The hit-and-hold circuit shall apply the supply voltage to the solenoid for less than 1s before entering a PWM state to reduce power consumption to approximately %30 or better while holding the solenoid closed. PWM frequency should be between 20 and 100khz.
The output must use a MOSFET or other component capable of supplying the required current.
A detailed schematic with component types and values will be required. The designer should provide frequency, time period, current and voltage simulation outputs (ideally graphed) before completion.
PCB design is not required.
Your expertise will help in making this project a success, and I look forward to your proposal.
