OEM communication embedded board - conceptualisation leading to prototype
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 AUD
I'm looking for an expert in designing a one or multiple small profile electronic board system that includes most if not all functionality.
This board's primary function will be serving as a communication device, incorporating both wired and wireless communication capabilities.
Key developer requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of embedded professional grade systems using one or mix off Linux based, FPGA.
- Formal qualification at BEng level as minimum
- Able to produce proprietary unique, flawless, fluid GUI covering configuration for the end-user and support.
- Proficiency in designing both wireless (Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, IOT, GPS) and wired (Ethernet, USB) communication interfaces.
- Experience with OEM board design
- Not requiring anyone who does Arduino, ESP, Pi. Our project must rely on a board that will be pushed as locked proprietary product in to small volume production.
Initial specs:
1. Bluetooth - must
2. Secure Wi-Fi AP and Bridge modes - must
3. DUAL SIM interfaces - must
4. GSM (3G/4G/5G) with service provider auto-switchover function - must
5. LoRa IoT gateway (cloud or locally managed, open for many sensors) - very desirable
6. GPS/GLONASS - must
7. Ethernet (2 or more ports, 100/1000 Mbps) - must
8. PoE Ethernet capability - very desirable
8. Local and remote web browser access for configuration - must
9. IPSEC VPN support - desirable
10. Cloud dashboard or integration with AWS/Azure-based VPC - very desirable
11. Manufacturer agnostic IoT sensor connectivity for various sensor types - very desirable
12. The schematics should licence free, customised for our product using high MTBF top-tier commercial-grade components, with minimal heat generation from active components (no fans intended) - must
13. We will design PCB but components selected by the designer shall withstand -18C to +45C ambient temperature as device will be exposed to harsh environment, mostly heating is under consideration. No component heating is acceptable in the design for use in the cold environment.
We require the LCD or e-paper display for displaying icons, status updates, and IoT sensor readings. The device will feature a screen to indicate the status of parameters, as well as allow minor configuration and adjustments. A menu hierarchy with feature icons, preferably with deeper icon sets, would be ideal. For user interaction, we are open to either physical push buttons or a capacitive touch screen interface.
The ideal freelancer for this project will have a solid understanding of the necessary wireless and wired protocols and be able to seamlessly integrate these into the board prototype. You're expected to create a reliable, efficient, and high-quality communication interface.
We seek those that are currently employed in the electronic industry and achieve good practical results.
