Modify DC Power Regulating Board
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I've purchased an inexpensive DC power regulating board, 12 V in and 0-12 V out. It has a pot you adjust for the output voltage. I want the output to slowly build from 0 to 12 volts over about 10 to 20 seconds. I decided to swap in a slow RC circuit for the pot. It does NOT work. See attached pic. I think the pot is just a variable resistor as the wiper and ground leg of the pot are connected.
The board was purchased on ebay: XH-M400 for about $8. I think you would have to purchase a board and experiment with it. The result should be when you put 12 VDC to the board, the output should slowly build to 12 VDC over a 10 to 20 second time period. It does not have to be linear. I would expect it to somewhat follow the characteristics of an RC filter.
