Lithium-Ion Battery Slow-Charging Circuit Design

Job ID: 38402853

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

I am seeking a skilled electrical engineer to design a slow-charging circuit specifically for Lithium-ion batteries. This project not only needs a detailed design plan but also requires the inclusion of specific safety features, these include:

- Overcharge protection
- Short-circuit protection
- Overheat protection

The unit will have 3 x 18650 batteries connected in series to power my device. The device will only be active for < 2 minutes every few hours so can charge slowly when not in use. There will be a timer running continuously outside of these periods. If possible, I would like the input to be powered by a USB-C connection. I do not yet know the physical dimensions so do not require a PCB to be designed atthis stage. I am happy to provide any additional information required and there may be more work following to design the other electronics required to operate my device.

Ideal candidates should have a solid background in electronic engineering and experience in designing battery charging circuits with advanced safety features. Understanding of Lithium-ion battery operation and its specific charging requirements is a must. Your expertise is needed to ensure a reliable, safe and effective design.
