Riders on horseback attempt to shoot the balloons with a blank loaded pistol, riding at a fast pace. object of sport is accuracy and speed. Scope of project: A Nema 23 425 oz stepper motor (stepperonline brand) is mounted vertical with shaft pointing up onto a frame work. mounted onto the stepper motor shaft is a 10" diamenter x 1/4" thick disc that has 36 holes located at 10 degrees apart. a 1/2" hose barb is threaded into the disc from the top side. the barb points up and a #9 balloon is threaded onto the barb waiting to be inflated. attached to the underside of the disc there is a tire valve stem screwed into the barb. A Bimba air cylinder 3/4" bore and 1" stroke is located in a vertical position in line to engage with the valve stem that has the uninflated balloon attached. the goal is to inflate the balloon and follow commands coming from a Stepperonline motor and stepperonline driver #552-T and a audernio uno R3 that has a break out mounted on top of the UNO R3. there is also a 12 v relay switch for the 12 v solenoind attached to the Bimba cylinder. Also in the sequence is a 4v servo that plays an important function that must co-operate with all other commands, and a RF remote to start the entire process.
