IoT Hardware Review and Firmware Developer
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I need some hardware and firmware developer (or team) with good knowledge of Industrial Grade IoT devices and I'm looking to make this project within 4 months but will negotiate the payment terms. I'm looking for someone interested in a long-term partnership to develop the product now but became a possible product designer/consultant in future.
The Design was done 3 years ago and now I need to do some revions on it like the red notes on the image.
1 - Verify if the chip ESP32 is still the best option available in the market (cost/benefit) (We need to connect in AWS IotCore);
2 - Review the celullar conection chip. Before we were using SIM868 but now we need to upgrage to 3G/4G modules once 2G is phasing out;
3 - Review the satellite module option to check if there is a module with better coverage than Globalstar;
4 - We need to add a Xbee or Zigbee receiver once I want to add wireless sensors on this module in future. So this main board needs to be ready to read temperature/humidity from wireless sensors. (The wireless sensor design will also be needed in future).
After reviewing the design the needed scope of the job will be the following:
1 - Develop schematics and BOM for main boards and the optional modules as per files attached;
2 - Develop PCBs layout and help to find a reliable enclosure designer (company) for the product;
3 - Estimate the cost of modules and find a supplier for manufacturing in China/India.
4 - Develop 4 firmwares variation including BLE, GPRS, Wifi, Ethernet and Satelite connections (GlobalStar). Some firmwares will post data directly to our server using MQTT protocol, another firmwares will sync data communication to our Mobile APP. The setup mode of the hardware should be done using the device as webserver to define the parameters using the browser and for the running mode, the Wi-Fi will be disabled or defined as Client if Wi-fi is the connectivity mode for the internet.
This board should be industrial grade to resist cold and hot weather once it will be used in trucks for tracking. So solution should be professional and hardware needs to be reliable and have long life.
Will be required knowledge with:
- MQTT protocol for hardware communication (Client mode)
- AWS IoT Core connection details
- BLE connection for APP integration
- GPRS/Wifi/Ethernet connections
- Satellite connections (GlobalStar)
- GPS coordinates handling
- Hardware connection to MySQL database to get device parameters.
- Temperature sensors knowledge
I hope this information is enough, after award the winner I will be sharing the diagram logic of the old board and also the board design for reference once the optional boards will be assembled as shield.
