I2C to RS485 Interface for MODBUS RTU Protocol
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 NZD
I am looking for a freelancer to help me develop an I2C to RS485 interface for the MODBUS RTU protocol.
Microcontroller: No specific microcontroller has been chosen for this project, but I have a preferred microcontroller brand. However, I am open to suggestions from the freelancer.
Noise Immunity: The project requires a high level of noise immunity to ensure reliable communication between the I2C and RS485 interfaces.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in microcontroller programming and communication protocols (I2C, RS485, MODBUS RTU)
- Knowledge and experience with various microcontroller brands and their capabilities
- Familiarity with EEPROM usage and implementation
- Expertise in designing circuits with high noise immunity
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug communication issues
- Detail-oriented and thorough in testing and validation processes
Desired Interface Operation
An existing equipment only has I2C serial communications available, but I need this equipment to provide data to, and be controlled by other equipment with only MODBUS RTU serial communications available. This existing equipment will always be a slave, there is no scenario where it will need to control other equipment. In other words, other equipment react to data from this equipment to control it.
Please note that for cybersecurity purposes, the entire project files including source codes are required, and project kits based on Arduino and Raspberry Pi may be used for development purposes, but the source code must be transferrable to industry-hardened microcontrollers.
