Four wheel drive skid steer yard cart
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
We are currently designing a 4 wheel drive cart for yard use in transporting firewood around a property.
It is to be a skid steer system, similar in function to a Bobcat. It will be electric motor driven.
There will be two electric motors for the drive system.
Each motor will drive one side. Ie. one motor will drive the two left hand wheels with a common chain drive and the other motor will drive the two right hand wheels.
Steering will be achieved by speeding up or slowing down one side motor.
We want to have this system radio controlled with two joysticks. So the joysticks would allow for forward and reverse, speed control and turning.
The cart itself would have a total weight of 1000Kgs.
The outside diameter of the wheels is 580mm.
Maximum speed is 1.5 metres per second.
The cart also has to climb a 25 degree slope at this speed.
We need someone that can design / calculate the correct size motor / gearbox combination along with integrating motor controllers, power supply (up to 48volts) and radio control integration. I would be preferable to use common components that can be sourced easily through Ebay, etc.
