Electronics: sensor and solenoids

Job ID: 31266336

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

INTRODUCTION

We are developing a prototype device and one aspect of this is to detect the presence / proximity of a small animal and to then energise two solenoids. This would be a low voltage arrangement c. 6V or 9V.

I think a passive infrared sensor or a proximity sensor seems the most likely solution but we are open to suggestions on that point. The device should ideally detect the presence of a small warm-blooded animal from above at a distance of 150mm or so.

As soon as the animal is detected the solenoids will be energised simultaneously.

We need an electronics engineer / company who can design and make the pcb.

OUTLINE OF WORK

- agree a project specification
- identify components, create circuit design
- build mock-up circuit and test
- create through-hole prototype circuit
- test, modify as required
- submit to client (UK)

OUTPUTS

- circuit design
- prototype (through-hole pcb) with sensor, solenoids and battery, on-off switch etc
- all documentation inc. Gerber file
- project progress photos
- parts list

TIMESCALE & START DATE

To start asap, estimated 3-6 weeks for completion.

FOLLOW-ON WORK

Following testing and any changes needed then a surface-mount solution would be required later.
