You are required to design and implement a state machine based control system for a car barrier system. It will be required to take simulated inputs from sensors that detects the presence of a car and requires a coded entry system It must suitably control the barrier and lights to allow safe progress of the car. This must be implemented as a fully functioning design verified by simulation and can be demonstrated on the DE2-115 development boards

This design report must detail the functionality and operation of your state machine. It should contain a state diagram and an explanation of how this meets the functional requirements of the specified problem. It should also provide details of your implementation of this design within the Quartus software, providing a suitable top-level schematic and the details of the VHDL code use in each schematic block to implement the state machine. A simulation of the outputs should be included. Demonstration of the correct pin assignments to use the required input/output devices specified must also be included. This report is expected to be around 3000 words in length.
You must reference all research sources that you use in all reports.
This physical demonstration must show the full functionality of the design on a DE2-115 development boards. The demonstration must use the inputs and outputs specified in the design brief below and must use the unique key sequence you have been assigned.
