Electrical Engineer with IOT experience
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
Looking to design a distributed network of low-cost IOT current monitor sensors for utility-scale solar farms for string monitoring. Essentially we require easy to install sensors on 10 AWG PV wire, up to 32 strings (wires) per combiner box location, installed outside on the wire and tied into a low-cost antenna. We would want this to be a distributed network that ties into one main enclosure onsite that has remote satellite / 5G capabilities. Average amps will be 20-30 per wire, running at 1500 volts since this is utility-scale.
Here are some factors:
Must be easy to deploy, low-labour, must have high security, safety in mind and meet all local electrical regulations of the Electrical code of Canada, NEC in the US, and cUL certification. Must operate in -40C temperatures, and support harsh environmental conditions
-Up to 60Amps
-Will operate at 1500V
-Non Intrusive CT, able to apply to wire (Half moon)
-Low-cost antenna box, up to 32 strings
-1x Networking box with wide range, with solar panel
-Interplay of hardware and software
-All hardware able to withstand -40C
-cUL Rated or possibility to apply for electrical certifications
