ESP32-S3 Custom Development Board Design

Job ID: 38776989

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Project Requirement: Miniaturized ESP32-S3 Development Board Design

Objective: Design a compact custom ESP32-S3-based development board tailored for wearable and IoT applications with the following specifications.

Key Specifications:

1. Processor: ESP32-S3 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.
2. Camera Support: Include a connector compatible with a camera module, e.g., OV2640, OV5640, or similar.
3. Audio Components:
• Two SMD microphones for stereo audio input.
• One SMD speaker for audio output.
4. Power and Connectivity:
• USB-C port for data transfer, power, and battery charging.
• Integrated battery charging circuit, supporting a single-cell LiPo battery.
• Battery connector positioned on the backside of the board.
5. User Interaction:
• Four programmable buttons for various user inputs.
6. Antenna:
• Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna.
7. Storage:
• MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
8. Other Requirements:
• The design should be as miniaturized as possible while maintaining functionality.
• Should include all necessary components for a complete, functional board.

Deliverables:

1. Schematics and PCB design files (in Altium, KiCad, or a similar tool).
2. Bill of Materials (BOM), specifying all components with part numbers and suppliers.
3. Firmware sample demonstrating the functionality of each component (e.g., reading camera data, recording audio, using programmable buttons, etc.).
4. Prototype Samples (if prototyping is part of the project).

Skills Required:

• Expertise in ESP32-S3 hardware design.
• Experience with camera modules and audio components on microcontroller boards.
• Knowledge of battery charging circuits and USB-C power management.
• PCB design and miniaturization for wearable or IoT devices.

Please include a portfolio of similar projects or PCB designs you have completed, along with an estimated timeline and budget for the project.

Please aim to design the development board to meet the target dimensions specified. The target dimensions for the board are decided based on the size of lipo battery easily available. Target dimensions should accommodate a 600mah LiPo battery. Component layout preference: Speaker microphones and buttons should be front facing. USB-C port will be the sole charging method. The board should be designed for standard PCB mounting. The board should be designed using a standard PCB manufacturing process. No The target dimensions should be based on the dimensions of easily available battery. The design should be created using EasyADA.
