Dog Temp Monitor with Pi Zero

Job ID: 39508762

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a dog temperature monitoring system using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. The setup should include:

- An LCD screen for displaying the interior temperature.
- Remote viewing access via an initial state account.
- Integration of a Waveshare BME280 sensor for temperature and humidity readings.

Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience with Raspberry Pi and sensor integration.
- Familiarity with Initial State for remote data visualization.
- Proficiency in setting up LCD displays with Raspberry Pi.

I have the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, and BME280 somewhat working, but obviously in over my head with this project. I would love to tinker with it and learn, but I need this project ASAP as the summer is here and I need the peace of mind that my dog is cool, and safe when I am not in the van.
I would like a remote monitor (think Tesla pet mode display) so that people walking by know he is cool and safe as well, but this is not a huge requirement and could be added later as I have another project I'd like to do after this is completed(Raspberry Pi Android Auto display, more on this later if you would like to be involved) I am open to input and ideas and would greatly appreciate feedback and suggestions for additional hardware to make this a great project.

In case you're wondering:
It's basically a campervan mobile office with starlink.
I travel a couple hundred miles a day doing inspections at car dealerships and once parked at the location I am never away from the van for more than 30 minutes. I have 14kW battery power, with 800W of solar and a 18k BTU AC unit on the van so my dog stays a nice, cool 68-70 degrees with ease. He has fresh water, a huge bed, couch, space to people watch and loves every minute of it.
