Design and implementation of an electronic driver for BLDC motor with sensors and EtherCAT interface
Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR
The project is to create an electronic driver (electronic board + firmware) for a custom-made brushless DC motor with internal hall sensors and temperature sensor.
The motor has the following characteristics:
Nominal power ~1500 W
Nominal voltage ~325V DC
Nominal current ~5 A
Range of speed [-5000 , +5000 rpm]
In addition to the motor, three types of external sensors should be read:
(2x pulses counter senso r 12V, 2x Analog sensors 0-5V, 1x Resistive temperature sensor PT1000)
Hardware emergency stop signal should be read also.
EtherCAT interface should be built.
Main requirements:
Set speed (Accuracy 1 rpm)
Set configuration (set control parameters, set the ramp rate acceleration)
Get state of the card (voltage, current, get real speed, get last configuration ... etc)
Get internal sensors measurements
Get external sensors measurements
Emergency stop procedure (from hardware and from software)
EtherCAT interface communication (for control, for configurations, for sensors and for emergency)
The requested work includes the following tasks
PCB design
PCB Manufacturing
Provide electronic components
Assembly and soldering
Cooling system for the electronic driver (heat sink with fan, or more advanced solution)
Firmware implementation (Motor, EtherCAT, Sensors and emergency stop)
Test and validation (according to an agreed document for the procedure of the test)
Size of the card should be the minimum possible and should not exceed 80x80x80 mm
Delivery:
Electronic card
Design files
Manufacturing files
Bill of materials
A complete firmware for all functionalities with sufficient comments
