Design and code a control loop for FOC algorithm

I have a BLDC driver that I designed - encoder + driver + CPU. The board is working great.
I can set a setpoint speed, position and the driver does the job wonderfully.
The firmware is based on SimpleFOC project.
the problem is when I need to create very fast position movements back and forth, I need to set the Kp gain of the position control very high. This causes problems and instability. I need to create a motion profile (trapezoidal or triangular) and attach it to a feedforward algorithm.
