Consultation and Development for UWB Localization System Prototype
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
Project Overview:
I am seeking experienced professionals for consultation and potential development work on a prototype Ultra-Wideband (UWB) localization system. The project aims to explore and implement a scalable, low-power UWB solution that facilitates precise ranging and 3D localization without the need for base stations.
Consultation Phase:
The initial phase involves a detailed consultation to determine the feasibility of using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware for the project. The consultation will help me decide whether the system can be assembled using readily available components or if a custom-built solution is necessary.
Project Requirements:
Hardware and System Requirements:
- Low Power and Low Computing Platforms: Preferably using ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or similar low-power devices.
- Tags Configuration:
- A minimum of three tags, with no base stations.
- Each tag should be capable of two-way ranging with other tags in the system.
- The system must be scalable to support additional tags.
- Ranging Techniques:
- Implementation of both Time of Arrival (ToA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA).
- Angle of Arrival (AoA) capabilities to enable accurate range and 3D location calculation.
- Operational Range: Tags must operate effectively within a range of 0.1 to 2.0 meters.
- High Update Rate: UWB system should support high update rates for real-time localization.
- UART Output: The system should provide output data (range, AoA, 3D location) via UART for easy utilization.
Software Requirements:
- Development Environments: Preferred programming languages and IDEs, such as Arduino IDE for accessibility and easy tweaking.
- Programming Languages: Python or C++.
Project Deliverables:
1. Consultation Report:
- Feasibility analysis of using COTS hardware for the UWB system.
- Recommendations on whether to proceed with COTS components or develop a custom-built solution.
2. Development Plan
- Detailed project plan outlining the development steps, timeline, and milestones.
- Hardware and software requirements.
- Estimated costs and resource needs.
I look forward to working with skilled professionals who can help bring this UWB localization system to life.
