Aphex Channel Repair - No Power Issue
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I need an electrical engineer to diagnose and fix my Aphex Channel. This is outboard gear from an audio studio. The unit decided to stop turning on one day, despite being plugged into a high-end power conditioner. The unit's circuitry should be mostly intact, but I believe there is an issue with the power supply circuitry.
These units were notorious for PSU issues, and this is the 2nd unit I've had where the PSU died. Upon internal inspection, there was no visible damage - unlike the 1st unit that broke, which had clearly burnt components. Note that the unit would sometimes take 20 seconds to turn on after powering it up, but this was supposedly normal behavior.
I was technically covered by warranty when the unit broke, but the manufacturer had recently stopped producing them, which they claim allowed them to reject my warranty.
