Analog Phone Interceptor
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
This project is about a piece of hardware and software.
The hardware will be inserted between a landline and a phone to intercept the signals.
The hardware has at least 3 ports:
1. landline phone jack IN (RJ11)
2. landline phone jack OUT (RJ11) to phone
3. Ethernet jack IN (or WIFI) to connect to the internet
Preferably, the device can also have an on/off switch to choose to just bypass the device so the phone will directly connect to the landline
When the device is activated, upon receiving a phone call, the device (with software or firmware installed) will do two things:
1. forward or connect the call to another phone number (VoIP);
2. report the current caller number, and the unique device ID (or this phone number) to a given URL endpoint using HTTP POST method
Deliverables:
A prototype. Using existing solutions are OK. But you need to identify how to get them.
