DC-charger analysis in Simulink
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
Project discription:
DC-charger analysis in Simulink
I have been conducting research on a DC fast charger system for marine applications, and have already investigated various batteries, converters, and voltage ranges for the system. In addition, I have been considering and anticipating potential technical restrictions and issues that may arise during the project.
The core concept of the project is to integrate a DC/DC fast charger into the main switchboard, thereby avoiding repeated power conversions and maintaining better efficiency. The battery and DC drive have already been selected, and their datasheets will be provided for reference. My objective is to simulate DC charger schematic in Simulink to analyze the output current and voltage of the converter. The results of this simulation will be used to size LC-filters, ensuring that the battery is safely charged with accepted voltage ripple. The filter will also smooth out the current and voltage waveforms, making them suitable for the intended battery.
The power and current direction of the system will be from the DC converter to the battery. The battery will not provide any power to the busbar, and therefore does not need to be discharged by the grid.
Job Tasks:
• Develop a Simulink model of the described system, taking into account the Vacon hybridization manual.
• Implement an LC filter to mitigate voltage ripple output from the converter.
• Simulate the output voltage and current of the DC converter, both before and after implementing the LC filter.
• Utilize the given battery specification to simulate the State of Charge (SOC) and State of Discharge (SOD) of the battery.
Additional information will be submitted when agreement are made.
