Expert Declaration on Non-Obviousness – Electromechanical Patent (Worm Gear Micro-Motor Technology)
- Work Description :
We are seeking a highly qualified technical expert in mechanical or electromechanical engineering, with academic and/or industry credentials, to provide an expert declaration supporting a non-obviousness argument in a pending U.S. patent application currently under final rejection by the USPTO.
This declaration will be used to support a Pre-Appeal Brief before the USPTO, and potentially a subsequent Appeal to the PTAB.
- Technical Background Required:
You must have demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas:
Design or analysis of worm gear motors (especially L-shaped configurations).
Knowledge of portable electromechanical devices, including constraints related to size, torque, and power.
Familiarity with mechanical performance parameters like torque, gear ratios, and result-effective variables.
Prior knowledge of USPTO procedures, obviousness rejections (35 U.S.C. §103), and the KSR v. Teleflex decision is a strong plus.
- What you will do:
Analyze a brief technical summary of the invention and the cited prior art.
Write and sign an independent expert declaration or technical opinion (approx. 1–2 pages) supporting the non-obviousness of the invention, especially focusing on:
Why torque was not a recognized or result-effective variable in the prior art.
Why the observed improvement in device efficiency from the worm gear motor configuration would not have been obvious to a POSITA.
(Optional) Be available to clarify your opinion if requested by the USPTO.
- Your profile must include:
✅ Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
✅ Documented expertise in gear motors, actuator design, or miniaturized electromechanical systems.
