Substation Relay Protection Design

Job ID: 40448217

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I’m upgrading an existing substation and need a specialist who can engineer the protection and control package, with the focus squarely on relay protection. The scope covers three critical functions—overcurrent, distance, and differential protection—and I want each engineered to modern utility-grade standards.

Here is what I need from you:
• A complete protection philosophy document that explains how the three functions coordinate with the rest of the yard.
• Detailed relay settings and coordination studies (ETAP or PowerFactory are fine; include all source files).
• Updated single-line and trip-logic diagrams in AutoCAD or MicroStation that clearly show CT/VT ratios, breaker interlocks, and isolation points.
• Test and commissioning sheets outlining acceptance criteria, plus any logic files for IEC 61850, if that’s the platform you prefer.

Your deliverables must meet IEEE C37 guidelines and be ready for peer review by my utility’s protection group. If you have recent experience with SEL or GE Multilin relays, that will make life easier for both of us.

Turnaround is flexible, but I’d like an initial concept within one week so we can iterate quickly. Let me know which software you plan to use and any questions you have about the existing station data.
