Steam Boiler Efficiency Optimization Report

I require a qualified and experienced mechanical engineer to conduct research and write an informative report on a naturally gas-fueled steam boiler, that is currently within the desirable levels of NOX emissions. The principal focus of the report should be proposing optimization strategies for the boiler's efficiency using the direct and indirect method. This proposal could potentially involve writing a MATLAB code.

A brilliant report should demonstrate how to maintain high efficiency while having as little NOX emissions even when the Flue Gas Recirculation (FGR) system is operational. Specifically, I want the optimization to:

- Increase the overall energy efficiency of the unit
- Reduce fuel consumption, which in this case is natural gas
- Enhance heat transfer efficiency to get the most energy out of the fuel consumed

The perfect contractor for this project would be proficient in MATLAB, possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, and have a comprehensive understanding of steam boiler operations and efficiency optimization strategies. Knowledge of FGR systems and NOX emissions is also an advantage.
