SPD Component Analysis and Selection

We are looking for an experienced freelance Electrical/Electronics Engineer to assist us with the technical data analysis of Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) and Gas Discharge Tubes (GDTs) for our Surge Protective Device (SPD) manufacturing venture.

Project Scope:

Identify suitable MOVs and GDTs for Single Phase AC, Three Phase AC, and DC (especially Solar PV) systems.
Conduct a detailed analysis of datasheets from various manufacturers, focusing on key technical parameters including:
Maximum Continuous Operating Voltage (MCOV / Uc)
Nominal Discharge Current (In)
Maximum Discharge Current (Imax)
Voltage Protection Level (Up) / Clamping Voltage
Response Time
Impulse Discharge Current (Iimp) - particularly for Type-1 SPDs.
Ensure component recommendations comply with BIS Standards (IS/IEC 61643 series).
Assist in identifying potential component suppliers based on quality and cost-effectiveness.

A strong background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Practical experience in SPD components and surge protection principles.
Proficiency in reading, analyzing datasheets, and preparing clear technical reports.
