Reservoir Hydro Turbine Generator Design
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I am planning a hydro-electric installation that will draw steady head and flow from an existing reservoir and deliver more than 1 MW of electrical power to the grid. What I need now is a complete turbine-generator design package that moves the project from concept to a manufacturable, on-site install.
Here is what I am expecting from you:
• Turbine selection and sizing – please justify the choice (Francis, Kaplan, or another style) with efficiency curves, head/flow calculations, and cavitation checks.
• Generator specification – voltage, frequency, excitation method, and protection class matched to the turbine’s mechanical output.
• Mechanical layout drawings (2D and, if possible, a simplified 3D model) showing runner, draft tube, penstock connection, and mounting frames.
• Bill of materials with indicative grades, coatings, and bearings so that local fabrication shops can quote.
• Electrical single-line diagram covering generator, switchgear, transformer, and basic protection scheme.
• Brief control philosophy outlining governor, excitation, and SCADA interfaces.
• High-level cost and schedule estimate that I can take to investors.
I will provide reservoir survey data, gross head, and flow duration curves once we start. Your package should be detailed enough for a qualified civil/mechanical team to proceed to construction drawings without re-working the hydraulic or electro-mechanical calculations.
If you have completed MW-scale hydro projects before, especially with reservoir intakes, please mention them along with any relevant software you plan to use (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Homer, ETAP). Accuracy, clarity, and engineering rigour are my top priorities, so I would appreciate seeing a short example of similar work you have delivered.
