Power MOSFET controlled by 555 delay

I need a small project for a power MOSFET.
The light (2 amper light) should be always on, and turn off for 2 seconds when receiving 1 positive impulse.
While it receives positive impulses the light should stay off.
We should be able to change the amperage through the MOSFET using a potentiometer.
